This isn't the worse birthday I have had, but it certainly was the strangest. I thought I might be spending some time at home for a while, so I bought a budget electric guitar last week I was going to buy anyway to replace one that was stolen. There were many guitars I was looking at, but this one just felt "right".
I have been relearning the major and minor pentatonic scale positions. I will try to learn some of the blues scales positions this coming week.
I think the guitar has been worth the money so far. However, the internet has given me some ideas for inexpensive improvements. I will be filing down the fret ends, swapping out the nut, and possibly upgrading the humbuckers when shipping gets back to normal.
On Saturday, I wrote my first guitar solo since 2009. It's amazing how much this guitar has changed me. I have the same enthusiasm for music that I had when I was 18. I also have the same optimism for the future in spite of the apocalypse going on in the background. God has been good to me.
