But what about those who don't believe in the Word of God? Is it possible to appeal to their preferred method of personal experiences? Let me tell you a tale of two children. One a girl (my niece). The other a boy (my son). I admit being partial as they are relatives, but I did just warn you that I was going to appeal to personal experiences.
My niece was very talkative. We could also manage to get her to sit down and eat her lunch in a high chair. My son will have none of that. We have to bribe and coerce him to eat while he plays. He hates sitting down for extended periods of time and would rather be active. Although he understands a lot of what we are saying, he uses far fewer words than my niece did at his age. Now, you could say that each child is different. And you would be right. But what about the difference in the ways my son treats myself and his mommy?
Keep in mind that he is not yet two years old. Yet, he treats us differently. I like to get down in the floor to play with him so I don't have to bend down. He likes to climb all over me. Sometimes, he will charge at me and try to headbutt me. This is something he would never try with mommy. But I can take it. Or at least he thinks I can. Toddler heads are just as hard as the heads of adults.
One last appeal using science and the rest of the world. Researchers at the prestigious John Hopkins University concluded that there was virtually no evidence that anyone is born gay or transgender. You can read the article here www.baltimoresun.com/health/bs-hs-human-rights-hopkins-transgender-20170329-story.html Hungary's Prime Minster banned gender studies at his nation's colleges. A spokesman for the Prime Minister called Gender Studies an ideology rather than science. The article is linked here www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/hungary-bans-gender-studies-programmes-viktor-orban-central-european-university-budapest-a8599796.html. I must mention that Hungary's ruling party is composed of Christians with traditional Christian values.
I have appealed to the Bible, scientific research, and cultural values. All agree that it is unnatural for anyone to be gay or transgender. Now I don't hate anyone who is gay or transgender. I actually feel sorry for them because they seem to have no sense of identity or self-worth. They seem confused. Even broken. And I pray for them.
