It reminded me of a scene from Mr. Holland's Opus. The title character is a high school band director. He and his wife take their son, Cole, who is still a baby to a Fourth of July celebration. They are surrounded by young children who cry when the fireworks go off. Mr. Holland looks back at the stroller holding his own son who is asleep and appears to be unaffected by the loud noise. The next scene shows Mr. Holland back at his school telling his students of a legend that Beethoven cut the legs off his piano in order to feel the vibrations so he could continue to compose music after his hearing loss.
I am a musician myself and my son likes it when I sing to him. When he would get upset and nothing seemed to help, I would sing to him. I'll be is his favorite song. .He doesn't know it yet, but I got him a kiddie drum set for his birthday. I can't wait to give it to him.
