- A driver totalled my car 2 weeks before the wedding. The car was a Toyota Corrolla. Another driver totalled my wife's car two weeks after the wedding while I was a passenger. The second car was the same make and model.
- I am named after my dad. My wife is named after her mother.
- My wife shares the same first and last name as my father's second wife.
- My dad married a Barbara and later married a Mary Davis. I was also with a Barbara and married a Mary Davis.
- My mother also wound up marrying a Davis.
- I chose the last Saturday in August as our wedding day as many employers let people off for Labor Day which is usually on the following Monday.
- August 29th is also the anniversary that Hurricane Katrina made landfall along the Gulf Coast. I later found out that is was also the anniversary of my paternal grandmother's death.
- Both sets of my granparents eloped nearly 10 years apart. Both marriages ended only in death, with more than 40 years together.
- I wore my maternal grandfather's wedding ring from 1943.
- On our way back from the honeymoon, we stopped by the Cocke County Courthouse where my dad's parents were married in 1932.
We will be celebrating our 5th anniversary on Saturday. So I have composed a list of cool stuff about our weddding.
