When the the nation of Israel was formed, God wanted to be the only king. They wanted a king they could see. God informed them that men would be drafted into military service and forced to pay taxes. They did not listen and God allowed them to have a human king who did exactly as God had said. The people spent the next 400 years in periods of revival and degradation. Good kings worshipped the God of Jacob and bad kings worshipped something else.
As someone from a heavy evangelical background, the end times is a popular area of discussion. As a child, I wondered why someone would willingly accept the mark of the beast mentioned in Revelation 13. Even many non-Christians have been made aware of this end time prophecy through such films as the Omen. Now, it has finally made sense to me.
We were cursed to work in the Garden of Eden. The majority of us hate our jobs. I don't know about you, but I felt pretty good when the stimulus checks came. But there has been a major fight concerning second payments and increased unemployment benefits. Some people have looked to the government as their savior and will vote accordingly next week.
The mark will be successful because it seems to rebuff the curse of having to work. This past year I have seen people willingly give up their rights for more money in order to stay home and rejecting the standards of morality described in the Bible because the government has replaced God in their lives. They only need a symbol of the government in order to fall under the Antichrist's power. I imagine the Antichrist will really push free money in exchange for a person's soul. Now that it is no longer backed by gold or silver, money is only worth what the experts tell us it is worth and one day it will the price of your soul.
