The Bible says that children are a heritage from the Lord. In 2013, I went through a very difficult period. I went through a devastating break-up and lost my job within a matter of weeks. The first thing I did was turn to the Bible.
I never wanted you, or any siblings you may have, to make the same mistakes your grandfather and I made. So I prayed for you. I prayed that you would be strong, brave, successful, and grow up to serve the Lord. I prayed that you would flee from sin and make wise decisions regarding who to let into your life and with whom to share the most inner part part of your being.
Not only did I pray for you, but I prayed for your children and grandchildren as well. The Bible says that G-d visits the iniquities of the fathers down to the third and fourth generation. However, the Bible says that G-d will extend his mercy to a thousand generations of those that love Him.
You see, I sort of had a family once. Not related by blood but by love. At least I loved them, but unfortunately they did not feel the same way. I realized I could not in good conscious bring a child into that particular family. So I began praying that G-d would make a way out for me. He did. I doubt it would even be possible to have a child in those previous circumstances. Two years later, I met your mother and you were conceived after another two years.
I wish I could say that I have been praying for you throughout the entire pregnancy, but I have been slacking in that area. Sometimes, it doesn't even seem real. Its finally starting to sink in now that we know your gender. I am going to have to be diligent and pray for you everyday.
I especially need to pray about your name. In the Bible, names had prophetic meaning. I want you to have the best life possible, filled with the Holy Spirit and successful in every area of your life. So, I'm going to pray for you.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May he shine his countenance upon you and grant unto you his peace.
G-d bless you my child.
